About Us:
Be A Blessing is a local community outreach which aims to involve men and women, girls and boys, from all walks of life, in bridging the gaps that exist between disparate communities and social environments.
This outreach program schedules monthly activities and annual events that aim to be fun and interactive, to build both individuals and communities.
Be A Blessing invites you to join us in making a difference!
MISSION:
To be a blessing to the community through acts of giving, caring and social interaction.
VISION:
To grow BE A BLESSING into a community based organization with a strong National Brand that brings together charities, volunteers & fund raises, to benefit those in need and provide a platform for those giving.
Monthly Activities:
Hospice Outreach:
Every Wednesday morning we visit the children at a local hospice in Germiston, the volunteers participate in caring for the children and spending time with them, reading to them and playing games with them.
Animal Outreach:
On the first Saturday of the month we visit a local SPCA where volunteers will interact with the animals, walking the dogs, playing with the cats and kittens. The SPCA also provides useful tips on caring for the animals.
Kiddies Outreach:
Volunteers help feed the babies breakfast at a local orphanage in Edenvale. We also interact with the older children playing soccer, arts and crafts.
Maintenance Outreach:
Join in a FUN day of maintenance/restoration at an underprivileged primary school. Activities are varied and will depend on the current needs, but suitable for all ages, gents and ladies. Enjoy time getting to know other volunteers and staff.
Food Packing Outreach
Assist in putting together meal packs, consisting of rice, soya, dried vegetables and vitamins. These ingredients are mixed together in specific quantities, sealed and packed in boxes ready to be distributed to those in need. Volunteers may also get involved in the distribution of the meals.
Elderly Outreach
Enjoy a morning with the folk chatting or reading at a retirement village in Edenvale. Volunteers may also participate in a quick course, in hand and feet massage. Volunteers may also get involved in tea gardens and visits from dogs to the elderly.
Collections:
Please note that our
focus is on volunteers donating their time, skills and energy, we do however do collections for:
