YOUR support has made us the heart of the East Rand, now it’s our turn to say “thank you”. We’re looking for one worthy organization in our community to support for a year. Applying for Balela? Here is some useful information for applying to the Balela Project: - Proposals will only be considered from bona fide organisations, schools, hospitals or institutions. ERM is looking to support one organisation, school, hospital or institution for a year. The recipient must be situated in one of the following areas: Boksburg Benoni Edenvale Vosloorus Brakpan Springs Kempton Park - Only proposals from the designated areas will be considered. - The closing date for the submission of tender documents is 5 pm, 11 June 2010. - The organisation that is successful in securing the tender will be announced before end July 2010. Proposal requirements: The following information must be included in your proposal: - The name of the organisation, school or institution. - Contact details – name of contact person, telephone, fax, cell phone number and e-mail address. - A brief description of the organisation, school, hospital or institution, including the mission and vision (approximately 2 pages or 1 200 words). - The proposal request. This must detail what the support would be used for, the amount of funding required and a detailed cost estimate to show how funds would be distributed (approximately 3 pages or 1 800 words). - A few suggestions of fundraising events that could be held at East Rand Mall or that would incorporate East Rand Mall (approximately 1 page). - Please note: Requests for running costs funding will be given less consideration than requests for projects that directly benefit the end recipient. - The proposal must not be longer than 8 pages. Submission details: Proposals can be hand-delivered to the East Rand Mall Marketing Office or faxed to 011 823 4234. There will be a two-week scrutinizing period during which a visit might be made to the organisation, school, hospital or institution. The final decision will be made before the end of July 2010. Criteria and regulations The decision made by East Rand Mall is final and no negotiations will be entered into. The chosen school, hospital, organisation or institution must be willing to allow the project to be marketed/referred to/named as the Balela Project (or a derivative thereof). The organisation, school or institution must be willing to allow East Rand Mall full access to the financial records with regards to the funding granted. The chosen organisation, school or institution must be willing to adapt or modify (in part) its initial proposal, should this be deemed necessary by East Rand Mall. The organisation, school or institution commits itself, in the act of submitting a proposal, to the implementation of the project and to working with the Balela project team and East Rand Mall. If any discrepancies are discovered once East Rand Mall has chosen a project, East Rand Mall reserves the right to withdraw.
